As a pizza snob and reviewer (see my reviews at Pizza Quixote), I am by nature skeptical of anything good from the big chains. Spinach & Feta comes with an Alfredo-style sauce, the "Tuscan" Salami & Roasted Veggie comes with a plain white sauce, while the Italian Sausage & Pepper Trio is the only one that features a tomato sauce. Of the 3 (pizza hut, dominos, and papa johns) pizza hut is the ONLY one I can order without cringing. Lots of banana pepper flavor and the spinach, onions, and roasted red peppers get lost. As far as these artisan pizzas go, I worked at Dominos for 2 years. (Then, confusingly in small print, it also says that they might be artisans). I’ll be trying that feta & spinach soon. The pizzas in the pictures lets me know i will not order them, they don’t look very appetising, well 2 of them looks ok but, the one with the sliced Italian sausage looks like dog food. I’ve tried lots of pizza joints, trying to look for a perfect pizza, but, not that they’re perfect, Pizza Hut keeps delivering value, complexity, and taste consistently. These look good, and knowing Domino’s, I have to wonder if they’ll be adding more flavors based on initial impressions. The sandwich meal combo “another ripoff”, should be renamed the kids meal. Dominoes doesn’t hand stretch each pizza at their location, you have to be an idiot to think they do. They also promise that every single Artisan pizza box will be signed by the employee who made it. Funny thing is, near where I live there's pretty much no good delivery pizza (and yep, that's in NYC no less)—the regular Domino's pies are pretty close to the best thing in the neighborhood.
