The Daytime Citizens’ Police Academy is a fifteen (15) week program, held during the day from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Aurora Center for Active Adults (ACAA). The cultural and intellectual offerings are often open to the public, free of cost and occur year-round. You also engage in practical exercises that cover building searches, crime scene processing, and traffic stops. Students admitted to the academy as cadets cannot be cited and have more than six total points on their driving record at any time during the academy or they will face dismissal.
